Katrina p3: The Masters of "Race War' from Ferguson Forward

The extremely ‘illiberal’ Wa. Times is a safe place for “Mr. Soros”, uber US imperialist global domination ‘activist’ for half a century, as “ mr grassroots”. Major strategic communications “news” narratives could ignore or deny this. But featuring Soros as ‘race man’ serves the bipartisan ruling class war counter-revolutionary agenda [spelled out in Brzezinski’s “Black Africa and the US Black movement” http://www.burbankdigest.com/node/549].
Here, this “solitary man” provides plausible deniability for a “plethora of organizations” deeply involved in provoking ‘race war’, with the State and Soros, creating “opposition” from the top, the AG’s Justice Dept. COPS Office, turning genuine resistance, ‘non-”collaborative policing” into violent pretexts for more police terror and martial law.[digest series links below]

A Democratic National Committee agenda includes a resolution supporting the Black Lives Matter movement...“recognizing the unacceptable epidemic of extrajudicial killings of unarmed black men, women and children at the hands of police the DNC renews its calls to action and urges lawmakers to adopt systemic reforms at local, state, and federal levels to prohibit law enforcement profiling based on race or ethnicity.”

George Soros funds Ferguson protests to spur civil action
Jan. 14, 2015 By Kelly Riddell - The Washington Times http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/jan/14/george-soros-funds-fergu...
There’s a solitary man at the financial center of the Ferguson protest movement...Soros-sponsored organizations helped mobilize Ferguson protests, building grass-roots coalitions on the ground backed by a nationwide online and social media campaign... The plethora of organizations involved not only shared Soros funding, but fed off each other, using each others content and buzzwords on one organization or another’s website, referencing each other’s news columns and creating a social media echo chamber of Facebook “likes” and Twitter hashtags that dominated the mainstream media and personal online newsfeeds... liberal billionaire George Soros, built a business empire that dominates across the ocean in Europe forging a political machine powered by nonprofit foundations that impacts American politics and policy...Soros spurred the Ferguson protest movement through years of funding and mobilizing groups across the U.S., according to interviews with key players and financial records...at least $33 million in one year in most recent Open Society Foundation tax filings....The Soros financial tether to activist groups gave rise to a combustible protest movement that transformed a one-day criminal event in Missouri into a 24-hour-a-day national cause celebre. “Our DNA includes a belief that having people participate in government is indispensable to a more just, inclusive, democratic society,” said Kenneth Zimmerman, director of Open Society Foundation U.S. Programs...
Buses of activists from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor Conference in Chicago; from New York the Drug Policy Alliance, Make the Road New York and Equal Justice USA; from WA D.C. Advancement Project, Sojourners, the Center for Community Change; networks from the Gamaliel Foundation — all Soros [founded or] funded in part — started descending on Ferguson in August, organizing protests and gatherings until late last month... keeping media attention... and widening the scope to interrelated causes — not just the overpolicing and racial discrimination narratives highlighted by the news media in August....
Kassandra Frederique, policy manager at the Soros founded Drug Policy Alliance DPA) that receives $4 million annually from his foundation]...traveled to Ferguson in October....said “ this movement is similar to the work we do at DPA... The war on drugs has always been to operationalize, institutionalize and criminalize people of color. Protecting personal sovereignty is a cornerstone of the work we do and what this movement is all about.”... Frederique works with Opal Tometi, co-creator of #BlackLivesMatter hashtag developed after the killing of Trayvon Martin in Florida — and helped promote it on DPA’s news feeds...Tometi also runs the Soros funded Black Alliance for Just Immigration...

#BlackLivesMatter
With Soros funding and backing of national civil rights organizations [digest: not to mention USAID plus probably top USAID--Soros NGOs, HRW, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, etc] “Black Lives Matter” grew from a hashtag into a social media phenomenon including a #BlackLivesMatter bus tour and march “More than 500 of us traveled from Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, Portland, Tucson, Washington, D.C., Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and other cities to support the people in Ferguson...help turn a local moment into a national movement,” wrote Akiba Solomon at Colorlines...online news with focus on race issues...writing about Ferguson... heavily promoting #BlackLivesMatter hashtag activities.... published by the Soros Foundation funded Race Forward....

After the #BlackLivesMatter march organizers met with Organization for Black Struggle (OBS) and Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE), also Soros funded, to strategize future operations...to “further police reform, accountability and public transparency” the Open Society Foundations blog post said in December...Dream Defenders, established the “Hands Up Coalition”... to recruit and organize youth nationwide to start local events in their communities — and take Ferguson nationwide...

Gamaliel’s protest event Sunday “Hands Up Sabbath”...asked clergy to speak out about racial issues, using packets and talking points prepared by PICO, another religion-based community organizing group funded by Mr. Soros...Monday, clergy were asked to lead acts of civil disobedience, prompting many to go to jail in hopes of media attention.... imagery of clergy down on hands and knees in front of police dominated the mainstream news cycle — two months after Brown’s shooting...“When we started marching down the street, saying, ‘hands up, don’t shoot,’ those images reached all over the world... Ferguson was going to become a movement. Twitter images, Facebook posts of burning buildings — it’s everywhere, the imagery is powerful. And the youth so engaged. They found a voice in Ferguson.”...

Mr. Obama, was once a community organizer with the Gamaliel Foundation, a Chicago affiliate of Soros funded Sojourners Christian ‘faith in action’ social justice organization...and Clergy from the Soros funded Samuel Dewitt Proctor Conference (SDPC) trustee Rev. Jeremiah Wright also showed up. Mr. Wright was Mr. Obama’s pastor in Chicago before some racially charged sermons, including “God damn America,” forced Mr. Obama to distance himself. Mr. Soros funds the Gamaliel Foundation network of interreligious and interracial organizations...which also received civil disobedience training from the Soros funded Advancement Project “to build a fair and just, multi-racial democracy in America through litigation, community organizing support, public policy reform, and strategic communications”...

Advancement Project, based in Washington, arranged the meeting between Ferguson community organizers in and Mr. Obama last month to brief him on the situation in Ferguson and set up a task force to examine trust between police and minority communities...Advancement Project dedicated some staff to lead groups in Ferguson...that
preach the same message, link to the same Facebook posts and “like” the same articles as DPA, ACLU, Hands Up Coalition, OBS, MORE, Black Lives Matter and others.

As we enter the second decade following the storm, it is imperative we demand and support solutions that benefit ALL of New Orleans. Unless stakeholders and public officials are all honest about racial inequity, they cannot fully commit to a recovery and development that is more equitable and sustainable.

Why Police Shootings Are a Federal Problem
Judith Browne Dianis, Advancement Project attorney and co-director based in Washington, D.C.
http://www.advancementproject.org/blog/entry/why-police-shootings-are-a-...
The Department of Justice already collects school district data across the country broken down by race on suspensions, expulsions and school-based arrests...
A crucial change that must happen at the federal level is amending the standard for bringing civil rights charges against police. Communities of color don’t trust local law enforcement to investigate themselves...the federal government can serve as a more neutral party, but the bar to actually bring charges is too high. The DOJ statute currently used for prosecution requires a finding that te police officer willfully deprived someone of their rights. A more suitable standard would be recklessness.
In a recent POLITICO interview, the head of the Department of Justice, Attorney General Eric Holder ,also said the bar for bringing federal charges is too high. “I think if we adjust those standards we can make the federal government a better backstop—make us more a part of the process --- to reassure the American people that decisions are made by people who are really disinterested.”

Civil Rights and Community Groups Applaud DOJ/DOE Race and School Discipline Guidance for Schools

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Jennifer Farmer, 202.487.0967 Email: jfarmer@advancementproject.org
Washington...“All children deserve access to a quality education, but too often, children of color are pushed out of the classroom through harsh school disciplinary policies, despite federal law that protects them. For several years prior to the Obama Administration, children of color could not depend on the federal government to protect them from discrimination in schools even though Titles IV and VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 existed. The DOJ/DOE guidance affirms this administration is committed to ensuring equal educational opportunities for all children” said Advancement Project Co-Director Judith Browne Dianis.....“The DOJ/DOE guidance confirms what advocates on the ground have been saying all along..,” said Advancement Project Managing Director of Programs James Eichner...“The research shows a single out-of-school suspension increases a child’s risk of falling behind in their studies and later dropping out...the release of the DOJ/DOE guidelines is a watershed moment for us all.” said Thena Robinson-Mock, Director for the Advancement Project’s Ending the Schoolhouse-to-Jailhouse Track Campaign. The release of the DOJ/DOE guidelines is a watershed moment for us all....Advancement Project applauds the DOJ/DOE emphasis on data collection since poor record-keeping by schools districts has at times sidelined the ability of advocates to hold schools accountable for disparities and seek legal redress when issues arise,”

Why the state sponsors BLM
THE TRUTH OF BLACK LIVES MATTER
Opinion By NYT Editorial Board http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/04/opinion/the-truth-of-black-lives-matte...
... The “Black Lives Matter” movement focuses on the fact that black citizens have long been far more likely than whites to die at the hands of the police, and is of a piece with this history. Demonstrators who chant the phrase are making the same declaration that voting rights and civil rights activists made a half-century ago. They are not asserting that black lives are more precious than white lives. They are underlining an indisputable fact — that the lives of black citizens in this country historically have not mattered, and have been discounted and devalued. People who are unacquainted with this history are understandably uncomfortable with the language of the movement. But politicians who know better and seek to strip this issue of its racial content and context are acting in bad faith. They are trying to cover up an unpleasant truth and asking the country to collude with them.

In contemporary military operations, service members are called on to act as street-level diplomats, negotiators, peacekeepers, law enforcement officers and relief workers....
The SSIM Program national kick-off was held October 11 – 13, 2011 at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center in Seattle. A diverse array of military, law enforcement, academic, and corporate experts met to discuss the science of human interactions, the training of service members and law enforcement, and the development of integrated evaluation techniques for assessing the quality of military and law enforcement interactions with strangers. In addition to developing new knowledge and techniques for the military, SSIM will transition measurement tools for use in training in “real world” settings... to assess social performance, its outcomes and effects.
