2/3/8 Ominous Political Wrap-Ups

Digest note: not planned as part of the digest's "Fear & Terror Factory" series, the following is however related and relevant.

FOR WHOM THE BILLION-DOLLAR BLACKWATER-BUILT "HOMELAND" CONCENTRATION CAMPS ARE BEING BUILT ...WITH HELP FROM LYNDON LAROUCHE, DAVID HOROWITZ et al.

This old "information" that showed up in an unrelated google search is timely now in the bogus "GWOT" not mainly because it reveals the role of a few well-known scumbags, Lyndon La Rouche & David Horowitz, but it reveals how U.S. PSYOPS creates "intelligence" databases that are grounds for criminalizing political opposition in the name of "national security". In this sense, it is a microcosm of the how the U.S. GWOT, a war against all opposition and resistance to U.S. imperialism, operates. State-terrorist-in-chief-figurehead said to Congress two weeks after the U.S. engineered 911 -- greenlight for the GWOT -- "if you aren't with us, you're with the terrorists", explicitly summarizing the imperialist-zionist strategy in the genocidal juggernaut for "full spectrum" global dominance.

To old - time activists the ridiculous RU/RCP wrap - up would be an hilarious bad joke -- if it wasn't part of the deadly serious manufactured big lies to officially designate, imprison indefinitely, torture and kill those any/all the state calls "terrorist". Regardless of one's views of the RCP or any of the other 'leftist' groups and individuals listed, such fascist state attacks must be exposed and opposed by all anti-imperialist, socialist, progressive and revolutionary people.

“Actions are held to be good or bad, not on their own merits, but according to who does them. There is almost no kind of outrage-----torture, imprisonment without trial, assassination, the bombing of civilians .. . which does not change its moral color when it is committed by ‘our’ side. The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.”-

The Myth of International Terrorism
The Power of Nightmares: Video Documentary
In the past politicians offered us dreams of a better world. Now they promise to protect us from nightmares. The most frightening of these is the threat of an international terror network. But just as the dreams were not true, neither are these nightmares.
British author and producer Adam Curtis (“Power of Nightmares re-awakened” BBC), made attempts to re-awaken the human conscience that the myth of international terrorism is a misleading political phenomenon to embark on American ambitions of global hegemony. Michael Meacher, MP and former UK Minister of Environment of Blair’s Cabinet points out the same agenda (“This War on Terrorism is Bogus:”):
“... the so called “war on terrorism” is being used largely as bogus cover for achieving wider US strategic geopolitical objectives.”

"to prevent the use of WMD"...
Pre-Emptive Nuclear Strike by the West a Key Option, NATO Told
By Ian Traynor
The Guardian
"The first use of nuclear weapons must remain in the quiver of escalation as the ultimate instrument to prevent the use of weapons of mass destruction." The west must be ready to resort to a pre-emptive nuclear attack to try to halt the “imminent” spread of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction, according to a radical manifesto for a new NATO by five of the west’s most senior military officers and strategists. Calling for root-and-branch reform of NATO and a new pact drawing the US, NATO and the European Union together in a "grand strategy" to tackle the challenges of an increasingly brutal world, the former armed forces chiefs from the US, Britain, Germany, France and the Netherlands insist that a "first strike" nuclear option remains an "indispensable instrument"...The five commanders argue that the west’s values and way of life are under threat, but the west is struggling to summon the will to defend them. The key threats are:
· Political fanaticism and religious fundamentalism.
· The “dark side” of globalisation, meaning international terrorism, organised crime and the spread of weapons of mass destruction.
· Climate change and energy security, entailing a contest for resources and potential “environmental” migration on a mass scale.
· The weakening of the nation state as well as of organisations such as the UN, Nato and the EU. [...]

"U.S. Missile System Could Re-Start Cold War, or Worse"
Interview with Philip Coyle, Centre for Defence Information

1/21/8 Up Close and Personal

“We have about 60 per cent of the world's wealth but only 6.3 per cent of its population,” he said. Our real task in the coming period (willbe) to maintain this position of disparity... We will have to dispense with all sentimentality and day-dreaming...The day is not far off when we are going to have to deal in straight power concepts.... The less we are then hampered by idealistic slogans, the better.”
1948, George Kennan, director of planning US State Department

There Is No “War on Terror”
By Edward S. Herman and David Peterson
... In short, the war on terror is an intellectual and propaganda cover, analogous—and in many ways a successor—to the departed “Cold War,” which in its time also served as a cover for imperial expansion. Guatemala, Vietnam, Chile, Indonesia, Zaire (and many others) were regularly subverted or attacked on the ground of an alleged Soviet menace that had to be combated... With that cover gone, pursuing terrorists is proving to be an admirable substitute, as once again a gullible [digest: complicit] media will accept that any targeted rebels are actual or potential terrorists and may even have links to Al Qaeda. The FARC rebels in Colombia are terrorists, but the government-supported rightwing paramilitaries who kill many more civilians than FARC are not and are the beneficiaries of U.S. “counter-terrorism” aid. Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela, on the other hand, which does not kill civilians, is accused of lack of cooperation in the U.S. “counter-terrorism” program, and is alleged to have “links” to U.S. targets such as Iran and Cuba, which allegedly support terrorists.[25] Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, and other torture-prone states are “with us” in the war on terror; states like Venezuela, Iran and Cuba are not with us and are easily situated as terrorist or “linked” to terrorist states.

...Mr. Bush said his goal "is not the conquest of Iraq, it is the liberation of Kuwait." But he also said, "We are determined to knock out Saddam Hussein's nuclear bomb potential. We will also destroy his chemical weapons facilities." ...

Defense Secretary Dick Cheney and Gen. Colin L. Powell, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters at the Pentagon Wednesday night that those targets had been among those assigned to the first wave of American F-117 Stealth fighter-bombers, F-15 fighter-bombers, British Tornado attack planes and Saudi and Kuwaiti F-15's that raided Iraqi military targets about 3 A.M. local time Thursday (7 P. M. Wednesday Eastern Standard time.) Administration officials also said United States navy ships in the waters off the Arabian Peninsula had fired ground-hugging cruise missiles at targets that had been programmed into their guidance systems for months. The officials said the ships fired a total of 50 Tomahawk missiles in an assault on Iraqi command and communications centers.

1/10/8 U.S. Recession & Reality

Digest note:
A few 'economic news' report links below admit that the 'recession is here', but they are misleadingly framed by the official line that the u.s. 'housing slump'/real estate bubble bursting' is the cause -- not the result -- of what is actually a systemic structural & conjunctural crisis of capital.

This is the driving force behind the desperate u.s. global agenda [aka GWOT]. Why? Only control of Arab energy/oil resources will give u.s. ruling class the leverage necessary for expanded and secured global domination. As Henry Kissinger is reputed to have said, and as 'everyone' knows, “Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control the people.”

Historically, U.S. capital crises have been temporarily 'fixed' by imperialist world wars to eliminate major rivals and expand the global basis for maximizing the accumulation of capital. From its inception, american "manifest destiny" has been the same killer game.

No exception this time around -- except probably the stakes are higher: without this 'fix,' U.S. world supremacy faces extinction at the hands of two counter-forces: the increasing resistance of millions worldwide [aka "terrorists", "al qaeda"] and rapidly growing capitalist rivals China & Russia, with the anti-hegemonic blocs they are forging against U.S. unilateral power. Following the news links are some revealing documents that put current events into their long-simmering geostrategic political context. [more info and docs at http://www.burbankdigest.com/]

1/7/8 Special Forces on Every Continent in Terror War with Bipartisan Support

The fake 'war on terror' is not conventional imperialist war, whatever the number, it is an imperialist war of a new type: global state terrorism based on the most extreme, most extensive, intensive juggernaut of disinformation, psywarfare, genocide and destruction of nations in modern history ... a fascist and futile attempt for a final solution, to rule the world...U.S."manifest destiny"

For two years, the U.S. has pursued the culprits behind the 9/11 atrocities with a vengeance that has shocked and awed ally and enemy alike. ..."Counterterrorism is now 90 per cent law enforcement and intelligence," said Jonathan Stevenson, a senior strategist with the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. "Since Sept. 11, the only overt military actions have been the Predator [missile] strike in Yemen, and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq -- and I don't think there will be many more. I think there's a much higher priority placed on law enforcement and intelligence now. It's not a traditional war."...

General Tommy Franks, head of the U.S. Central Command, was in Addis Ababa this summer to announce that Africa's east coast had become a region of great strategic importance.
