A Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita employee was arrested Thursday on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a child, after parents contacted law enforcement to report an alleged inappropriate relationship between the woman and their teenager.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as Elizabeth Eiizarraraz, 32, who worked at the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita. Eiizarraraz was taken into custody Thursday morning on a felony charge of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14.

According to the sheriff’s department, the teenager and Eiizarraraz met at the Santa Clarita club sometime between 2024 and 2025. Investigators believe the teen is Eiizarraraz’s only contact with a minor. The case will be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for a charging decision as the investigation continues.

The Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita confirmed it learned of the arrest and moved quickly. The organization suspended Eiizarraraz and banned her from all club facilities pending the outcome of the investigation.

Matthew Nelson, CEO of Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita, addressed the arrest directly. “Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Clarita Valley is committed to the highest standards of ethical behavior and integrity and does not tolerate inappropriate or illegal activity on the part of any staff member, volunteer, or youth member,” Nelson said. He added that all employees and volunteers undergo criminal background checks before working with the organization.

The case puts a spotlight on child safety protocols at youth-serving organizations throughout the region. The Boys and Girls Club operates programs designed to provide safe, supportive environments for young people, and arrests involving staff members at such organizations draw intense scrutiny from parents and the broader community.

For Burbank families, the case carries local resonance. The Boys and Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley operates programs at multiple sites across the city, serving thousands of youth annually. The Burbank chapter is a separate organization from the Santa Clarita club and has no connection to this arrest. Still, incidents like this one prompt parents to ask hard questions about supervision practices and reporting procedures at any organization where their children spend time after school.

Parents who have concerns about conduct at any youth-serving program have several options. The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services operates a 24-hour hotline at 1-800-540-4000 for reporting suspected abuse or neglect. The Burbank Police Department’s non-emergency line is (818) 238-3000 for concerns that do not require an immediate response.

The sheriff’s department has not released additional details about the nature of the alleged relationship or the specific incidents under investigation. The teenager’s identity has not been disclosed, consistent with standard practice for protecting minor victims in criminal cases.

Eiizarraraz faces serious exposure if the District Attorney files charges. Felony lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 under California Penal Code Section 288 carries a sentence of three, six, or eight years in state prison per count, along with mandatory sex offender registration.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information relevant to the case is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
